Assata, a Bertie County native and graduate of Bertie High School, completed her undergraduate education at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Assata went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School
Assata, a Bertie County native and graduate of Bertie High School, completed her undergraduate education at The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, Assata went on to obtain her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University School of Law. She returned to her beloved eastern North Carolina after working for 1 year at the Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, DC. In eastern North Carolina she served as an assistant prosecutor for almost 17 years before deciding to put up her own shingle and serve this community as a private practitioner. Assata is currently working with the Edgecombe County District Office focusing on murder and other high level felony cases.
